The shulchan aruch divides the halachos into two cases. The first is that a drop of ink falls on a letter and the letter is no longer recognizable. The second is that the sofer mistakenly writes a ‘ד instead of a ‘ר or a ב’ instead of a כ’.
Question: Why is this halachah divided into two parts? Is it just giving examples of two different scenarios or is there a halachic significance underlying the difference?
