In general, I sell mezuzah cases that have practical designs and a nice appearance that would go well in any part of your home or workplace. They are designed to be the correct size for each of the standard sized mezuzah klafim without having to crush or bend the klaf, and without taking a chance that a nail will go through the klaf when you try to put it up. The cases I sell are sturdy and easy to take down and put up. You may see cases that look similar that are sold for less money. I don’t carry these similar looking cases because I know their flaws.
Standard Mezuzah Cases
Standard white mezuzah case with gold trim and snap on back:
These cases come in the following sizes: 10cm, $2.00, 12cm, $2.50, 15cm $3.00 Sometimes there are slight variations in the design of this cases. This is not a waterproof case, and it tends to yellow when exposed to the sun. If you are using double sided tape, you must wrap scotch tape around the case in order to keep the front of the case from popping off when it gets touched. This is also important from a halachic perspective because mezuzos must be tightly affixed to the door frame. Overall, this is an excellent practical mezuzah case for the price.
In the picture below on the left are two wooden cases. These are called Ledoros cases. They are made in Israel and come in standard sizes (10cm,12cm, and 15cm). They are supposed to be waterproof but I wouldn’t use them outside unless you live in a very dry climate.
Aluminum Sandblast Cases.
See pictures below. They are some of my favorite cases. They are solid metal with a strong peice of double sided tape on the back. There is a removable screw on the bottom which allows the mezuzah to be taken out without taking the case off the wall. The opening in these cases is not huge so it is best to have the mezuzos rolled by someone who knows how to do it. The second case from the left is on its side. The four cases on the right are an older version with a different design.
Sometimes I can get the old style aluminum cases in the picture below. They are the same ones in the group picture above but it is easier to see the shape in this picture. These cases are well made and quite nice.
Below is a picture of the clear sandblast style. They have the same curved profile of the aluminum sandblast cases but they are clear in the front and colored on the side in shiny black, white, silver, or gold. The shine is pretty dramatic and doesn’t come through in the picture.
One of a kind mezuzah cases:
Beautiful Clay Mosaic Handmade Mezuzah Cases
Each of these cases is unique. They are made in Israel one at a time and they make a great gift. If you put a $50 dollar mezuzah in one of these cases, you have a good quality, kosher mezuzah in a beautiful, unique case for about $100.
