One of my students sent me this picture of a mezuzah he wrote. He wanted to know if there is too much space between the lamed and the bais in levavcha. I answered him that he should add a bit of dio (ink) to the left side of the lamed and to the right side of the bais. It appears to be kosher the way it is, but just barely. If fixing wouldn’t be an option we could as a child how many letters are in each word on the line. When he gets to the word levavcha if he says “four” it is kosher, if he says “three” it is posel (but can be fixed and fixing it would not be considered ‘writing out of order’.
