If you are in the process of building or buying a house, consider purchasing your mezuzos from me and hiring me to professionally install them on the day you move in. This will accomplish several things: The mezuzos will be completely installed on the day you move in which is how it must be done according to halacha (only renters outside of Eretz Yisroel have 30 days before they are obligated in the mitzvah of mezuzah). They will be installed correctly. I look at every doorway and every opening to determine if it is obligated to have a mezuzah. I look at every room to see if its usage requires a mezuzah. This includes walk in closets, laundry rooms, porches, unfinished rooms, rooms with unusual configurations, rooms with unusual uses or even unusual odors. I determine which side of the door is the proper side for the mezuzah. This is exceptionally important because if a mezuzah is on the wrong side of the door in many cases the mitzvah remains unfulfilled. I will put each mezuzah up on the correct part of the doorway at the correct height. I use screws instead of nails so they will be easy to take down and check in three and a half years as per halacha. All mezuzos are affixed in a neat and secure fashion. I know how to put up mezuzos on wood, metal, glass, stucco and uneven stone. I prepare exterior mezuzos in the most waterproof and sun proof way possible. I double wrap mezuzos going inside bedrooms and put them in a proper case (not clear) for this situation. I work in homes, offices, stores, schools, yeshivos, factories, camps, and nursing homes. But even more than all of the above, I personally check and prepare each mezuzah that I sell. I make sure that each sofer who writes for me is a yiras shamaim, and who has an up to date smicha which certifies him to write sefrei torah, megillos, tefillin and mezuzos. I explain why different mezuzos cost different amounts. I maintain a selection of mezuzah cases appropriate for most people’s needs. Sometimes I can order certain cases (given proper lead time).
